Fort Lauderdale Airport Shooter Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ in Court

The man suspected of shooting and killing five people inside the bag claim at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida earlier this month makes yet another court appearance, and officially tells the judge he’s not to blame.

FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:

Esteban Santiago has now been indicted and arraigned in federal court of 22 crimes related to the shooting attack at Fort Lauderdale Airport, in which Santiago already admits to police it was he who took a firearm from his checked luggage and started shooting inside the terminal.

But now, Santiago pleads ‘not guilty.’ He’ll face an eventual trial, potentially with a death penalty. Santiago’s family insists he suffers from mental illness, though some investigators say online, Santiago was expressing Jihadist sentiment.
