Rex Tillerson Clashes with Marco Rubio During Confirmation Hearing
The confirmation hearing for Secretary of State continues on, and the Senators involved are not making it easy on Rex Tillerson.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland has the details from Capitol Hill:
Members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee peppered Tillerson with questions about his ties to Russia when he was CEO of ExxonMobile.
Republican Marco Rubio wanted to know if he believes Russia’s President is a war criminal:
(Tillerson) “I would not use that term.”
Rubio also asked Tillerson if he would support imposing mandatory sanctions on countries that engage in cyberattacks:
(Tillerson) “I think it’s important that those be dealt with on a country by country basis.”
Republican Senator John Cornyn, who backs his nomination, said Tillerson understands how to separate friendships and business.
