Florida Woman’s Pet Alligator Will Be All Hers for Christmas

A Florida woman’s pet alligator will be home for the holidays after-all.

    FOX’s Tom Graham explains why:

Christmas coming early for Mary Thorn of Lakeland:

(Thorn) “Rambo was just a smiling.”

Rambo is her pet alligator. She’s had the reptile since he was 4-years-old but now he’s 15. Thorn has been fighting Florida wildlife officials who initially said the six-foot-long gator is too big for her to keep but since backed down:

(Thorn) “Now I just won the right to keep him for the rest of his life or the rest of my life.”

Thorn says Rambo is a kept gator and unable to live in the wild. She adds he’s safe to be around:

(Thorn) “He plays with my grand kids he plays with the kids.”

Most experts disagree, saying alligators are dangerous and should not be kept as pets.
