Shaq Will Be Forever Immortalized in Bronze Form

You can bet on a sell-out for one basketball game this season. But it won’t be anything on the court or in the arena that they’re coming out to see.

FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:

The Lakers announcing they will unveil a life-sized statue of Shaquille O’Neal in the star plaza outside the Staples Center before their game against the Timberwolves on March 24.

The 1200 pound, 9-foot bronze sculpture will be attached to the arena, suspended 10 feet off the ground:

(O’Neal) “After Orlando, I ended up in L.A. Kazaam 2 was not yet in production. But what was in production was the beginning of a new Laker dynasty.”

Shaq was the finals MVP in all three championships he won in L.A., making the All-Star Game seven times during his eight-year run with the team.
