Mixed Feelings over President-elect Trump’s Sec. of State Pick
President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for Secretary of State could face an uphill battle in the Senate.
FOX’s Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:
Some Democrats and Republicans are concerned about Exxon Mobile CEO Rex Tillerson’s ties to Russia. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said he’s unnerved by the fact Tillerson was awarded the Kremlin’s Order of Friendship in 2013.
Reince Priebus, Mr. Trump’s choice for Chief of Staff, downplayed the award:
(Priebus) ”Athletes, astronauts, musicians, other Americans, Canadians, a lot of folks have gotten this award.”
It takes 51 votes in the Senate to confirm Mr. Trump’s cabinet nominees, with Vice-President Mike Pence casting a tie-breaking vote. Republicans do hold the majority in the upper chamber, with 52 votes.

I have chosen one of the truly great business leaders of the world, Rex Tillerson, Chairman and CEO of ExxonMobil, to be Secretary of State.

The thing I like best about Rex Tillerson is that he has vast experience at dealing successfully with all types of foreign governments.
