Dolly Parton Puts Together Fundraiser for Tennessee Fire Victims

Dolly Parton gets some friends together to make a difference in her home state.

FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports:

Dolly Parton gathered up a number of her friends, including Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers and Alison Krauss to perform a benefit concert called “Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund” and it’ll be broadcast Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 8 P.M. Eastern on the cabler Great American Country.

The nationally-broadcast, three-hour telethon seeks to raise money for the Dollywood Foundation’s: My People’s Fund, established by Parton:

(Parton) “We want to make sure the Dollywood Foundation provides a $1,000 a month to all those families that have lost their homes in the fire.”

Any family who lost their primary residence due to the wildfires will be eligible, both renters and homeowners.
