"Toothless lioness. ... The House has nothing to do with his appointment, nothing at all. So speaking of a toothless lioness, it is going to be the Senate that approves. And thank goodness for our democratic colleagues, a couple of years ago when they put in, Harry Reid, one of his innovations was the nuclear option...we just need 51 votes in the Senate and I am confident Price will get 52 votes in the Senate, Price is going to be our next HHS Secretary and no matter what Miss Pelosi says, that doesn't matter."

--Senator Cassidy on Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi vowing to fight the nomination of Rep Tom Price as HHS Secretary

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) joined Kilmeade & Friends to discuss the retirement of Senator Harry Reid, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi vowing to fight the nomination of Rep Tom Price to head HHS, which democrats he hopes will be willing to cross party lines and work with republicans, his plan to repeal and replace Obamacare and the overwhelming bi-partisan passage of his 21st Century Cures And Mental Health Reform.

Cassidy on Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats vowing to stop the appointment of Rep. Tom Price to head the Department of Health & Human Services

(Kilmeade) I want to talk about some of the headwinds that looks like Congressman Price will face as he tries to get confirmed on Health and Human Services Secretary because he is going to try and implement the repel and replace of Obamacare, Nancy Pelosi says this,

"Destroying Medicare and making seniors pay more is not what people voted for in November. We will do everything in our power just as we did in 06 when Bush wanted to privatize social security."

(Kilmeade) Your thoughts on this?

(CASSIDY) Toothless lioness. First we are not talking about Medicare and that's the old bait and switch that democrats want to do to scare seniors. If there is one thing that increases cost for seniors, it was Obamacare but that is not what we are talking about. So Medicare, from my perspective I think from prices as well will not be what addressed, number 1 is. Number 2, the House has nothing to do with his appointment, nothing at all. So speaking of a toothless lioness, it is going to be the Senate that approves. And thank goodness for our democratic colleagues, a couple of years ago when they put in, Harry Reid, one of his innovations was the nuclear option, so democrats have the majority and President Obama and they say listen, we don't have to compromise with republicans majority from henceforth that's all we need, republicans said you are going to regret it, sure enough now they do, we just need 51 votes in the Senate and I am confident Price will get 52 votes in the Senate, Price is going to be our next HHS secretary and no matter what Miss Pelosi says, that doesn't matter.
