Japanese Prime Minister Will Join President Obama During Pearl Harbor Visit
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Pearl Harbor with U.S. President Barack Obama at the end of this month.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
The unexpected announcement from the White House came two days before the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Prime Minister Abe will be the first Japanese leader to visit there and said that while there he’ll pray for the war dead at the naval base. He’ll also hold a final summit meeting with the President.
The White House said “the two leaders” visit will showcase the power of reconciliation that has turned former adversaries into the closest of allies.
Abe met with President-elect Trump in New York last month and said that Mr. Trump is a leader he can have great confidence in.
