Election Day: States Vote on Legalizing Marijuana & Minimum Wage

People aren’t just voting for President this election, they’re also voting on things like marijuana, cigarettes, guns, and the minimum wage in some states.

FOX’s Jessica Rosenthal reports:

Four states will vote on medical marijuana measures and five states will vote on legalizing pot for recreational use.

Mason Tvert is with the Marijuana Policy Project says:

(Tver) “It’s quite clear that a majority of voters in all of the states voting on this believe marijuana should be legal.”

Now, four states, Washington, California, Maine and Nevada are voting on gun laws. Nevada and Maine’s would require background checks from those buying from a private or online seller. Four states are also voting on raising taxes on a pack of cigarettes.

Maine, Colorado, Washington and Arizona have ballot initiatives to raise the minimum wage, though South Dakota has one that will lower minimum wage for teens.
