More Older People are on the Road

    A growing trend on who’s in the driver’s seat.

    FOX’s Lilian Woo reports: 

    There are more older drivers on the road, according to the government. The Federal Highway Administration saying data shows nearly one in five drivers is over 65, thanks in part to the aging baby boomer generation and greater longevity overall.

    The fastest growing demographic in the country increasing two percent last year. Statistics also show there are more drivers today than ever before, an estimated 217 million.

    As for the number teen drivers, they increased slightly in 2015 for the first time in two years, but continue to remain at a near record low.
