President Obama On Board with Sending Humans to Mars

The President is making a commitment to sending Americans to Mars.

FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:

The President writes in a CNN op-ed piece that his administration is partnering with private companies to send humans to Mars by 2030.

The President said that within the next two years, private companies will for the first time, send astronauts to the International Space Station.

NASA, he said, is working with commercial partners to build new habitats that can sustain and transport astronauts on long-duration missions in deep space.

Since the President ended the Space Shuttle program, the U.S. has been paying Russia more than $70 million per seat to fly American astronauts to the International Space Station on Russian spacecraft.
