Martin Truex Jr. & Team Test their Luck in Charlotte
NASCAR starts the second round of the Chase Saturday night as drivers head to Charlotte to compete at the Bank of America 500 and Tony Stewart helps out Dale Earnhardt Jr.
FOX’s Marghiee Teshineh has this week’s “FOX in the Fast Lane”:
Martin Truex Jr. heads into the second round of the Chase and this weekend’s race at Charlotte. Truex was asked to explain the team’s recent good luck:
(Truex Jr.) “It’s just clicking, I mean I don’t know. I mean you know honestly I feel like all season long we’ve been the same team and we’ve done the same things and you know I guess right now it’s just our time.”
Austin Dillon in his first Chase appearance is still in the hunt and says these next three tracks including Talladega, Kansas and Charlotte are where he can shine:
(Dillon) “Proud to be moving on to the Round of 12 where I have some really solid tracks, one being Talladega where we were able to finish third earlier this year.”
And if you’re Dale Earnhardt Jr. and you need a substitute driver for a charity ride-along event you’re holding at Charlotte Motor Speedway, what do you do? For Jr., Tony Stewart was available to happily volunteer to drive for Jr., who still has not been cleared for driving by doctors.
