Dolly Parton Set to Receive ‘Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award’

Shania Twain and Dolly Parton get honored and Luke Bryan takes a detour thanks to Hurricane Matthew.

FOX’s Michelle Pollino has “FOX Country”:

I’m Michelle Pollino.

Congratulations to Shania Twain, set to be honored with CMT’s coveted ‘Artist of a Lifetime Award’. Twain is the first female to get the award following Kenny Rogers and Merle Haggard.

The ‘CMT Artists of the Year’ event honors Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett this year, it airs Oct 20.

Superstar Dolly Parton will receive the ‘Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 50th annual CMA awards, airing Nov. 2 on ABC. Dolly revealed the news on Jimmy Kimmel, saying her and Willie go way back and she even wrote a duet for her and Willie to record:

(Parton) “And trying to sing with him, I mean I was everywhere, I called him up,  said, ‘Willie, send me a sack of that grass you’re smoking. I can follow you.'”

And Hurricane Matthew has forced Luke Bryan to cancel his first 2016 ‘Farm Tour’ date in South Carolina, due to predictions about the weather.
