Hyundai Issues Recall on Tuscon
Hyundai is recalling 41,000 SUVs in the U.S. over a computer software glitch.
FOX’s Jeff Monosso reports:
It’s a software glitch that Hyundai says can stop some 2016 Tuscon SUVs from accelerating. The company says it started getting reports in June that the engines would rev, but that the SUVs wouldn’t move after coming to a stop.
They say the problem was intermittent and often didn’t repeat itself. Engineers traced the defect to the transmission control computer.
If the gas pedal is repeatedly cycled the Tucson’s may not accelerate, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will reprogram the transmission computer for free.
