Federal Judge Blocks White House Order Involving Transgender Rights
A federal judge, for now, is blocking an Obama White House order involving transgender rights.
FOX’s Gurnal Scott has the story:
It’s a temporary victory for a group of 13 states, led by Texas, that halts the President’s order that allows transgender use of showers , bathrooms and locker rooms based on chosen gender identity. The ruling comes as many districts across the nation start their academic years.
The Texas judge cites procedural problems, meaning no notice or suitable time for comment as the reason for the decision, not students’ rights.
While the Texas attorney general hailed the ruling, the head of the National Center on Transgender Equality says it deprives transgender kids of “dignity” and ”respect”.
