Dixie Chicks Lead Singer Calls Out Country Radio
Dixie Chicks calling out country radio and Eric Church releases a timely new single.
FOX’s Michelle Pollino has “FOX Country”:
I’m Michelle Pollino.
The Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines posted on Twitter calling out country radio writing, “I get banned for not liking Bush and now Trump can practically put a hit out on Hillary and he’s still all over country radio! Hypocrites!”
Back in 2003, Maines told a London audience she was “ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas,” her hometown in response to Bush’s plans to invade Iraq, the comments caused the Chicks to be banned from country radio. In her tweet Maines was referencing a rally where Trump says maybe there is something the 2nd Amendment people can do to Hillary Clinton who wants to appoint judges to abolish the right.
Country star Eric Church just released his latest and the chief tells Rolling Stone Country the song “Kill a Word” is definitely coming out at an interesting time.
Church says with a country consumed by violence and a bitter presidential election on the horizon, it’s the right time for the track. Adding, “I’ve never had a song that felt more meaningful and relevant than this one.”
That’s FOX Country on FOX News.
