Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump is responding to defectors in the party who are refusing to support him.

FOX's Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

Among the Republicans rejecting a Trump presidency: Senator Susan Collins of Maine, who wrote in a "Washington Post" op-ed that Trump doesn't have the temperament for the job. Also, 50 former national security officials signed a letter that says Trump lacks the character, values and experience to be President.

Trump blew off the non-endorsements on FOX:

(Trump) "For the most part I haven't even spoken to any of these people because I like to speak to a new group. The old group was not doing it. Take a look at the Middle East. Take a look at the problems we have."

In a statement, Trump referred to the former national security officials as failed Washington elites.
