Military Members Infected with Zika After Being Overseas
The U.S. military is tracking its own cases of Zika virus as Florida continues a full-court press of prevention efforts.
FOX’s Eben Brown reports from Miami:
The Pentagon says 33 members of the U.S. Military are now infected with Zika, and that one of them is a pregnant female.
While we know the service members were overseas when contracting the virus, the military won’t say where they are now or what treatment they are receiving.
Here in Miami, officials are watching the weather. Plans to spray insecticide from an airplane this morning had to be postponed due to rain.
If the weather holds up, they could try at sunset. Fifteen people in Miami, infected with Zika, have been linked to one neighborhood where mosquitoes are likely the cause of infection.
