Mixed Martial Arts Fighter Kimbo Slice Dead at 42

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Kimbo Slice died Monday night in Broward County, Florida. His unlikely rise to fame made him a favorite in the ultimate fighting community.

Born Kevin Ferguson in the Bahamas, Kimbo Slice fought his way from the streets in Miami to the octagon on the world stage. 

After videos went viral that showed the once-strip club bouncer shredding his opponents in unsanctioned street fights, Slice studied mixed martial arts and competed for several promotions, including the Ultimate Fighting Championships:

(Announcer) “Declared the winner by unanimous decision… Kimbo Slice!”

Slice won five of the seven professional fights he entered. His death at age 42 is not actively being investigated by police in Coral Springs, Florida. Foul play is not suspected.

Slice leaves behind his wife, Antoinette, and six children.
