Put Away Those Picket Signs… Verizon Strikes Tentative Contract with Workers
The strike is over for some Verizon workers.
FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:
They walked off the job last month and they’ll return next month, Wednesday, when June starts. The nearly 40,000 Verizon employees will get back to work after reaching a tentative contract agreement.
That will give them nearly 11 percent pay raises over four years. The deal would also 1,300 new call center jobs and the first contract for Verizon Wireless store workers.
It was Landline and Fios employees who went on strike walking the picket lines in nine Eastern states and Washington, D.C. Those union members still have to vote to ratify the agreement.
