John Kasich and Ted Cruz Teaming Up to Try and Take Down Donald Trump
The two remaining rivals of the Republican frontrunner have teamed up in the fight over delegates in the 2016 presidential race.
FOX’s Tonya J. Powers has more:
Governor John Kasich says he will now be openly cooperating with Senator Ted Cruz’s campaign to keep Donald Trump from getting the GOP presidential nomination.
Kasich says its a misconception that there are rules that would shut out a candidate in an open convention:
(Kasich) “Even if there were those kinds of rules, you could be nominated from the floor of the convention. Look, we’re going to an open convention.”
The Trump campaign released a statement early this morning calling the alliance a “horrible act of desperation”:
(Trump) “You know, once I defeat them I like every one of them, while I’m fighting them I don’t.”
Five states will cast primary votes on Tuesday: Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Trump leads recent polling in each of those.
