Whole Foods Fights Back Over Alleged Homophobic Cake
A pair of dueling lawsuits are in the works in Texas after an alleged incident involving a cake and a homophobic slur.
FOX’s Tom Graham explains:
A gay pastor in Austin says he ordered a cake from Whole Foods with a custom greeting meant to say “love wins,” but when he got it back from the bakery he claims it included the anti-gay f-word:
(Brown) “It was humiliating.”
A tearful Jordan Brown of the Church of Open Doors spoke to reporters:
(Brown) “I’ve had to deal with this in the past.”
Brown is suing, but Whole Foods officials are filing a counter suit. They say Pastor Brown is defaming their employees with a false claim. Whole Foods is also releasing surveillance video suggesting the store can prove it was Brown who tampered with the original cake.
