Country Artist Jake Owen Pays Tribute to Merle Haggard

Nashville stars lend their voices in to speak out against LGBT legislation, Merle Haggard documentary is available for free while Jake Owen does an impromptu tribute.

FOX’s Michelle Pollino presents “FOX Country”:

I’m Michelle Polllino.

‘Nashville’ star Chris Carmack joined Glaad and the Tennessee Equality Project to speak out against two recent pieces of legislation that passed in North Carolina and Mississippi and other similar measures if signed into law in Tennessee.

Gregg Allman recently posted on his website that he will play his concert in North Carolina, but is standing in solidarity with the LGBT community.

Meanwhile filmmaker Gandulf Hennig’s award-winning documentary on Merle Haggard, ‘Learning to Live with Myself’, which originally aired on PBS in 2010 is now available on Vimeo.com for free. The filmmaker has made the documentary available in the wake of Merle’s passing and Hollywood has already started work on optioning a feature film on the legendary musician’s life.

And Jake Owen recorded a live 25-minute video on Facebook of himself performing several covers of Haggard’s songs as a tribute to the late musician.

That’s FOX Country on FOX News.
