Two Guantanamo Bay Detainees Flown to Senegal for Resettlement

Two more detainees at the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba have been released.

FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:

Two Libyans held for years at Guantanamo have been flown to Senegal for resettlement. According to documents obtained by Wikileaks and the New York Times, one of those released poses a “high threat to the United States.”

The other detainee is a former explosives and weapons trainer for al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. The Pentagon said the two men were the first of a group of about a dozen detainees who are expected to be transferred in the coming weeks to at least two countries that have agreed to take them.

With the latest departures, there are now 89 prisoners at the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
