New York Senator Charles Schumer Taking on President Obama in Counter-Terrorism Program
A budget fight is heating up between the President and one of the most powerful Democrats in the Senate.
FOX’s Jon Decker has more from the White House:
The number two ranking Democrat in the Senate, New York Senator Chuck Schumer, is slamming a White House proposal that would reduce funding for counter-terrorism programs across the country by nearly $300 million.
Schumer is is urging the President to reconsider the cuts which were included in his proposed 2017 budget.
Schumer has said that in light of recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, the proposed spending cuts are ill-advised, ill-timed, and they must be reversed.
