Americans Quitting Jobs Reaches Highest Total in 9 Years
There’s a new update on the job market.
FOX’s Dave Anthony reports:
There was more help wanted in December. Companies posted nearly 5% more job openings, 5.6 million, that’s the most since July.
This as more Americans quit their jobs, that number rose almost 7% to about 3.1 million, the highest number in nine years.
Economists look at that as a sign that people may be more confident they can leave a job and go find maybe a better, higher paying one.
This comes the unemployment rate fell to an eight year low in January to 4.9%, despite less than expected new hiring.
