Country Music Politics
Country music stars talk politics, well some do, plus Chris Stapleton and Eric Church top the ACM nominations.
FOX News Radio Entertainment Correspondent, Michelle Pollino has the scoop on the Country music stars making headlines this week:
I’m Michelle Pollino.
Aaron Tippin‘s hit ‘Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly’ played loudly over the speaker when Ted Cruz took the number one GOP spot at the Iowa caucuses.
So what did Tippen think? The country star was fine with Cruz using his song, however in a statement Tippen released he said, “I’m not endorsing anyone, but I hope that my song will help get folks out there and do their patriotic duty, vote!”
Even though Tippen ain’t saying who he’s backing some are like Kid Rock and Loretta Lynn who are both favor Donald Trump, but country great Merle Haggard ain’t.
Eric Church and Chris Stapleton are the top nominees for the upcoming 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, both nabbing five each, including a first for Church as ‘Entertainer of the Year.’
Cam another first, Chris Young, and Little Big Town each receive four nominations. Reigning ‘Female Vocalist of the Year,’ Miranda Lambert earned three nominations.
And a big surprise this year no Blake Shelton anywhere!
