Report: Fewer People Will Use Obamacare This Year
A new report estimates fewer people will use Obamacare to sign up for health insurance this year.
FOX’s Lisa Brady has more:
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office projected 21-million Obamacare enrollees last March, but the new study estimates 13-million expected to purchase policies through federal or states exchanges in part because of more people not eligible for subsidies based on income buying outside the exchanges.
The Obama administration has said its goal is about 10-million paying for coverage this year.
The CBO report also increases the estimated number of low-income medicaid enrollees, by three million to more than 14-million as of 2025 as medicaid access expands under Affordable Care Act increasing medicaid spending to an estimated $187-billion over the next 10 years.
