Cotton and Orange Bowl Ratings Down From Last Year
The National Title game is set after two big college football games were played on New Year’s Eve, but did anybody watch them?
FOX’s Chris Hoenig reports:
Alabama beat Michigan State, while Deshaun Watson and Clemson topped Oklahoma…
(ESPN) “Watson rolling to that right side and throws on the run and he got right through… Down the sideline… Touchdown!”
But the ratings for the Cotton and Orange bowls on ESPN were down about 36% from last year’s college football semifinals… The big difference: They were on New Year’s Eve instead of New Year’s Day this year…
The games rotate between the six New Year’s bowls, which means they’ll be on New Year’s Eve two out of every three years… Only featuring on New Year’s Day when the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl host…
The 2016 Fiesta and Peach Bowl New Year’s Eve semifinals could have an advantage, December 31 is a Saturday this year.
