Switzerland Freezes Bank Accounts Linked to FIFA
Switzerland has frozen millions of dollars in bank accounts belonging to Soccer’s governing body FIFA at the request of U.S. authorities.
FOX’s Kate Alexander has more on this growing scandal from Geneva:
Swiss media reporting that between $50-million and $100-million are sitting in 50 different banks…
A Swiss Ministry spokesman says the U.S. has asked for documents related to these deposits and that so-called corruption money is believed to have transited through these now frozen accounts.
As if things aren’t bad enough, FIFA President Sepp Blatter is to appear before an ethics committee on corruption charges.
