Congress Extends Tax Breaks

An end of the year deal to extend popular tax breaks clears the House.

FOX News’ Jared Halpern has more on Capitol Hill:

As part of a broad package funding the federal government for most of next year… Congressional leaders have extended $600-billion in tax breaks for businesses, investors, and families, making permanent credits for things like college and child care expenses and charitable contributions.

Some taxes connected to the Affordable Care Act are delayed as part of the agreement.

While most Democrats opposed the package, they did win concessions, pushing through tax breaks for alternative energy sources like solar and wind power.
