Chipotle E. coli Outbreak Found in Other States
A recent E. coli outbreak linked to Chipotle restaurants in the Pacific Northwest was apparently more widespread than we thought.
FOX News’ Jessica Rosenthal reports:
We knew people got sick with E. coli in Oregon and Washington, 39 people in both those states, but now the CDC says six other people got sick with the same strain in four other states. Two in California, two in Minnesota, one in Ohio, and one in New York.
43 of the 45 total said they ate a Chipotle restaurant within a week of getting sick. The CDC says it is likely one particular ingredient or food item is the problem, but investigators haven’t found what it is.
Chipotle closed all stores in Washington and Oregon’s Portland area after the outbreak, deep cleaned the restaurants and ordered new ingredients before reopening.
