National Toy Hall of Fame’s Newest Members
The Toy Hall of Fame has three new inductees.
FOX News’ Tonya J. Powers has more:
Twister, the Super Soaker, and the puppet are the newest additions to the National Toy Hall of Fame.
(Twister) “Twister your feet and hands go down, but you’ve got to stay up. It’s wicked hot!”
It was too hot for the Sears catalog in 1966, but after a game of Twister between ‘Tonight Show’ host Johnny Carson and Eva Gabor the following year, sales soared.
The Super Soaker has been around since 1990 with more than 27-million of them sold in the first three years.
And the puppet finally gets its due, taking its Hall of Fame place among other play things including Barbie, the Rubik’s Cube, and the Easy Bake Oven.
Other finalists this year included the spinning top, Battleship, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the scooter.
