House Committee Introduces Resolution to Impeach IRS Commissioner

A move is underway to impeach the IRS Commissioner.

FOX News Radio’s Jon Decker reports from the White House:

In the wake of the decision by the Justice Department not to indict IRS employee Lois Lerner for contempt of Congress, a House Committee has introduced a resolution to impeach the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service.

The resolution to begin impeachment proceedings against IRS Commissioner John Koskinen charges him with “destruction of evidence, failing to comply with a subpoena for evidence, and making false statements under oath”.

If the full House ultimately votes to impeach Koskinen, the Senate would then hold a trial.

Republicans have accused Koskinen of making inaccurate statements to Congress regarding the Tea Party targeting scandal.
