Little Girl Beats Barriers; Meets The Pope

One of those lucky enough to meet the Pope during his visit to Washington was a five-year-old girl who managed to get by security and deliver a message to the Pontiff.

During Pope Francis’ parade around the White House Ellipse, five-year-old girl Sophie Cruz whose parents are Mexican immigrants hurdled the security barrier.

Sophie was then beckoned to the Popemobile by Pope Francis, who kissed her on the head, blessed her and accepted a letter from Sophie calling on his support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

In her message to the Pope, she said she was scared her family would be taken away.

Sophie’s father, Raul, who is with her on the trip, said it was a miracle that his daughter met the Pope.
