Horror master Wes Craven dies at 76.

Legendary horror film writer/director Wes Craven has died at his home is Los Angeles after a battle with brain cancer.
Best known for the film franchise “Nightmare on Elm Street” — Wesley Earl Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where he lived next to a cemetery on Elm Street — spawning his biggest hit in 1984 “Nightmare on Elm Street” — starring a then unknown Johnny Depp.
Craven continued re-inventing the teen horror genre with the ‘Scream’ movies. But to following his horror film work, he also directed the drama “Music of the Heart” which landed an Oscar nomination for Meryl Streep.
Wes Craven was 76.
