President Obama is heading to the Alaskan arctic to announce a controversial change.

FOX News Radio's Rachel Sutherland reports from Washington:

The President wants you to call it "Mount Denali"... The tallest mountain in North America is being renamed after decades of being known as Mount McKinley, named after the nation's 25th President.

Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski supports the change, which Alaskans have been calling for since 1975. In a video message, she said the change will show...

(Murkowski) "Honor, respect and gratitude to the Athabascan people of Alaska."

The President will spend three days in Alaska pushing for aggressive action against climate change. Lawmakers in Ohio, where McKinley was from, are upset over the change, calling it executive overreach.
