President Obama Weighs In On Net Neutrality
President Obama jumps into the net neutrality debate.
FOX News Radio’s Jared Halpern reports:
Like millions of other Americans, President Obama is lending his opinion to the debate over how the Internet should be regulated.
(President Obama) “There are no gate keepers deciding which sites you get to access. There are no toll roads on the information superhighway.”
In a web video released by the White House, President Obama argues the FCC should reclassify the internet as a public utility, preventing companies like Netflix or YouTube from cutting deals with Internet service providers for content priority and faster speeds.
Industry representatives and many Republicans disagree, calling the President’s proposal a gross overreaction.
