Police Investigating Shooting In Canada
UPDATE: Shots were fired in TWO locations: A war memorial and inside the Canadian Parliament building. Earlier reports of shots being fired in a third location– around a nearby shopping mall were unfounded.
Shots were fired in and around Canada’s Parliament in Ottawa. One victim and one suspect have been confirmed dead.
FOX News Radio’s Steve Taylor reports:
One gunman jumped from a car, shot and wounded a Canadian military guard at a War Memorial, then ran away. Police say there also were shots in or around a nearby shopping mall and inside the Canadian Parliament building. The Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, was there. Global Radio Network reporter Christopher Guly says Harper…
(Guly) “…Was removed soon after reports came out. He’s gone to East Block, to a secure room there.”
No confirmation yet of anyone else being shot. Much of downtown Ottawa — Canada’s capital city — is on police lockdown.
