Legal Marijuana Shops Opening In Washington

    Rethinking Pot Washington

The first retail marijuana shops can open for business in Washington state today .

FOX News Radio’s Tonya J. Powers has the story:

Lines formed early in front of soms stores that can legally sell pot starting today, but others are waiting a little longer to open, just to make sure they’ve got things in order.

Spokane store owner Sam Calvert says he hopes to open next week.

(Calvert) “I want to insure that everything is the way it is supposed to be, according to the plan.”

Justin Wilson says he’ll open his store later to keep from running out of product and having to temporarily close, something stores in Colorado faced.

(Wilson) “I’d rather be open properly and ready for the long haul, rather than just a short-term run.”

Sales in Washington will be more tightly regulated than Colorado, with controlled packaging and the rule that cameras must be on the business at all times.
