Woman Attacked By Bear in Alaska, Walks For Help
A woman’s hospitalized in Alaska after surviving a bear attack.
FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:
She was going in and out of consciousness in the ER, trying to describe what happened:
(Sledge) ”All she could remember was that it was a sow and two cubs.”
That bear attacked the woman, a military wife who wants to remain anonymous, Sunday morning while she was out jogging at Anchorage’s Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
Slashed and bloodied, she managed to get up and walk two miles to a road where a driver spotted her and called for help. Alaska Conservation Law Enforcement Officer Mark Sledge:
(Sledge) “The survival instinct for that woman is phenomenal. The trauma that she went through and then the walk out was heroic.”
She’s said to be in stable condition.
