Millions Wasted On Tamiflu?
Research suggests a flu remedy might not be all it’s cracked up to be.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports:
A group of scientists says millions of dollars have been wasted on the flu drug Tamiflu. The research network the Cochrane Review says the drug can shorten flu symptoms, but there is no evidence that it leads to fewer complications or hospital visits. And the review says Tamiflu would not prevent a pandemic. The U.S. government has spent more than a billion dollars on a reserve of antivirals including Tamiflu. The drug’s maker Roche says it rejects the findings.
