Wine Drinkers Often Over Pour
New research shows that people who drink wine often don’t know how much they are consuming.
FOX News Radio’s Bill Vitka reports:
How we pour wine, and the color of wine, shape how much wine we pour. And over-pour wine drinkers do. A study at Iowa State University had people pour what they considered a normal drink. Different types of glasses in various settings were used. When pouring white wine, they poured 9% more than pouring red. When it was a wide glass, they also poured more — a 12% greater amount. Wider glasses get a bigger pour because we tend to judge volume by height. It even happens to the pros, because bartenders make the same mistake according to the study authors.
