FL Boy, 8, Suspended Over Imaginary Gun
A Florida mother is fighting her son’s school suspension over an imaginary gun.
FOX News Radio’s Dave Anthony reports:
Bonnie Bennett’s son was playing cops and robbers at school when he pointed his finger like a gun. That got him suspended for a day last week:
(Bennett) “I agree it was inappropriate but this is absolutely excessive.”
So she’s trying to get that suspension removed from her son’s record:
(Bennett) “There was no intent to harm.”
The Osceola County, Florida school district says the eight-year-old boy violated the code of conduct, but she says she read that code:
(Bennett) “I can’t find anything, any reference whatsoever to finger pointing or utilizing your finger as a gun.”
Bennett says she’s willing to take the district to court.
