Obamacare & Prescription Drugs
As the battle over defunding Obamacare plays out in Congress, there are some big question marks surrounding the Affordable Care Act.
FOX News Radio’s Jill Nado reports from Washington:
Prescription drugs — a huge part of healthcare. But for now, only a handful of states know how they’re going to get paid for under Obamacare. The AARP has been backing healthcare reform, but their public policy spokesperson Leigh Purvis says:
(Purvis) “There are just so many unknowns, it’s really hard for us to speculate on what we’re gonna be seeing over the next few months.”
Stephen Patton runs a website that tracks wholesale drug prices called prescriptionbluebook.com and he’s not happy with Obamacare.
(Patton) “I’ve asked many of my colleagues about what to expect and nobody knows.”
Obamacare does call for an out-of-pocket healthcare cost cap of about $6,300 a year, but that’s been delayed until 2015.
