A major buy in a battle over the smartphone and tablet markets.
FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso reports:
FOX on Tech.
In a $7.2 billion deal, which has been two years in the making, Microsoft buys Nokia’s line-up of smartphones and a host of patents as the tech giant tries to take on Apple and Google. Most of our digital lives are now on smartphones and tablet technology and not as much on PCs where Microsoft dominated the software market for decades. Microsoft hopes to complete the deal adding 32,000 Nokia employees to its already 100,000 strong workforce early next year.
