Housecall for Health: Coffee May Lower Suicide Risk
Drinking coffee may be more than just a way to wake up. According to new research, it may lower suicide risk also.
FOX’s Colleen Cappon reports in this edition of “Housecall for Health”:
Good news for coffee lovers — drinking the caffeinated beverage may lower suicide risk in both men and women by as much as 50%. A new Harvard study shows coffee accelerates the production of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, acting in the same way as an antidepressant. Researchers assessed more than 200,000 people over 20 years. The benefits come with just two to three cups a day.
