[VIDEO]: Logan Beirne On George Washington

Logan Beirne Logan Beirne, author of Blood of Tyrants: George Washington and the Forging of the Presidency, talked to Brian about George Washington’s courageous fight for liberty.  “His greatest strength was his perseverance; he would never give up,” Beirne said.

Brian also asked Beirne how Washington handled some issues we still have today such as treating foreign combatants. “Washington had a very interesting approach,”  Beirne explained.  He said that originally, Washington was morally opposed to torture and treated foreign combatants very well.  But as he saw the brutality that was inflicted upon the American prisoners, “searing irons, amputations,” he switched his mentality.
