FOX on Tech: CUL8R – Txt Messages R Down

Texting Down

How are you and your BFF communicating these days?  A new report is finding that one way is becoming less common.

FOX News Radio’s Chris Hoenig reports:

FOX on Tech.

OMG!  Texting is losing popularity.  The number of text messages sent dropping 5% last year.

(Walls) “It still numbers more than two trillion, so there’s a lot of traffic going on out there.”

…CTIA – The Wireless Association’s John Walls.  It still works out to 19 texts per person, per day.

Might be TMI, but those Apple iMessages don’t count as texts since they’re actually sent out of the cellular network.  FWIW, sending a BRB used to cost you $0.10.  So did an LOL.  But even though texts are now included in most plans, internet-based chats are increasing in popularity, part of a spike in the use of mobile data.

TTYL, I’m Chris Hoenig, FOX News Radio.
