The link between diabetes and obesity has been researched by a variety of labs, as has soda drinking and obesity. A new study out of Europe connects the dots, but with surprising results.
FOX's Colleen Cappon reports in today's "Housecall for Health":
The negative health effects of sugary drinks is nothing new, but one new study suggests they may be worse than previously thought. Researchers at the Imperial College London found drinking just one can of soda a day increases the risk of diabetes by 22%. They analyzed data from more than 350,000 people in eight countries.
Type II diabetes affects more than 300 million people worldwide.
